Before we make a decision about designing a unique lens hood for the Leica Noctilux 50mm F0.95 with our patent-pending design, we wanted to visualize how it might appear. We utilized a 60mm to 62mm step-up ring to ensure a proper fit.
We've noticed that the barrel of the Noctilux 50mm F0.95 ASPH is notably longer compared to the Nikkor 5cm F1.1. The Noctilux 50mm F0.95 has a barrel length of 88mm, while the Nikkor 5cm F1.1 measures just 68mm, which is 20mm longer. Given this difference, we are considering designing a shorter lens hood to maintain a balanced aesthetic with the Noctilux 50mm F0.95. Interestingly, the current OLJ design for Nikkor 5cm F1.1 appears quite pleasing when mounted in reverse. What do you think about what our design for Noctilux 50mm F0.95 should be?
